Learning to be a teacher – the journey from school to classroom

Welcome to my new blog, A Teachers Adventure. This blog will be documenting my first year as a teacher in Los Angeles. Yesterday I received a job offer and today I accepted the position at a Charter school in East LA. From here on out I will documenting everything that happens as I go through the 2009-2010 school year as a new teacher. I will share everything I can about the process from setting up my classroom, to lessons I use in my class, and any great resources I find along the way. In addition I will also share what lead up to my first job including my decision to go back to school to get my Masters/Teaching Credential and the process of finding a program and completing it. I will also talk about the job search and share stories and tips I’ve learned along the way.

When I started this adventure almost two years ago I had many questions and concerns and no one to really help answer them. I hope this site helps people who are thinking of becoming a teacher, new teachers or even veteran teachers learn something new and helpful that assists them through the process of becoming and being a teacher.
